Daytona Bike Week 2006
More Main Street mayhem, including the classic "Choking His
Chicken" body suit man. (Look back through the '04 pics and
you'll see he's in there too, but with bigger horns on his helmet!)
Friday night we decided to really check out downtown DeLand.
Even though we've stayed in DeLand the every year, we never really
checked it out. We ended up eating on the patio at the Main Street
Grill, and it was great. The atmosphere and food were both outstanding.
If you're ever down that way, check out
downtown DeLand. It's
very cool, and very laid back.
After dinner, we put on our jackets and made the trek up to
Ormond Beach, which is north of Daytona. In the past, there wasn't
a whole lot going on up there other than the Broken Spoke and
the Iron Horse. This year not only were those two sites cranking,
but also the new Boot Hill Saloon and even a temporary mini-fairground
setting called the "Suck, Bang and Blow". Those guys
came down from Murrell's Inlet to setup shop for bike week...
