The LugNutz Media CD
Product Overview
- Four years worth of burnouts, racing and mayhem!
- I started putting together a collection of the old lugnutz videos for a CD to raise
money for commercial hosting for the lugnutz site.... but realized the quality and
compression of most of the footage was inadequate for a CD with the lugnutz name on it.
Most of the videos on the Lugnutz CD have been painfully remastered (over a three
month period) from the original Hi8 source tapes!
- All the classic favorites are included, generally in larger 320x240 format and
often with much higher quality audio.
- There are a number of new videos and pictures that were never published on the lugnutz or any
other website. Additionally, several of the fan favorite videos have been expanded in
duration to provide better flow and context.
- The CD has just under 700MB worth of content on it! It's packed!
- All videos and pictures are thumbnailed and organized for easy reference. If you
can navigate a web site, then you can navigate this CD!
- Parental Note: There is some occasional mild profanity in a few of the videos.
Your 15 year old has heard all the words already... but the CD is probably inappropriate
as a gift for a 9 year old. Just a heads-up - use your parental judgement.
- See some samples on the videos page here!
Footage Included
- The project '67 camaro: 19 videos including in-car day and night, burnouts and big wheelies!
Also includes 54 pictures, many never before published.
- Randy Brown's E-Ticket formula: 20 videos and 65 pictures including plenty of burnouts, drags,
Maxton standing mile footage and awesome remastered in-car shots.
- Duraspooge 3000: the Duraspooge labs crackers blow up no less than five different
cars in product test videos you have to see to believe. Find out how long it takes to cook
cheeze dogs from the exhaust of a dodge minivan.... your gut will probably hurt from laughing
so hard.
- General F-body: 46 videos including some classic footage of the MAFB VVF2 and VVF3 events,
as well as the CFB mega 10-car simultaneous burnout, exxon exodus mayhem, etc. Also includes 64
f-body related pictures.
- Memphis F-body event: 32 videos, many remastered and never seen on any of the official
memphis CDs.
- Wild Willie's S10: 12 videos including many remastered and several never seen videos of
this badass ride. The audio is great on these; hear the blower whine! The popularity of
the S10 is really what killed the free lugnutz videos hosting - you guys loved it too much!
This also includes 35 pictures including many behind the scenes at Groves central.
- Ten-Fives: 27 videos of kickass heads-up 10.5" tire CCRA/SSRA racing. Burnouts, wheelstands,
squirrely passes and groovy in-car footage from several 5-second (1/8 mile) rides. Also
over 100 pictures of the CCRA cars and events.
- Turbokid: He could be lumped into the Ten-Five category, but this thing is such a wild
ride that it deserves it's own section. 8 videos of burnouts, wheelies and some really
cool in-car footage.
System Requirements
- Windows 98 or newer (i.e. Windows ME, 2000, etc.) Windows 95 MAY work, but at your own risk!
- A basic web browser - Netscape/Mozilla or IE made in the last 4 years should work fine.
- I have tried the videos on Kelly's old 300MHz Pentium laptop and they play OK, but not
quite as nice as on my desktop. If your computer is less than 3 years old, you are probably OK.
If you have less than a 300MHz pentium under the hood, the videos may be jumpy. It's time to upgrade
your machine.
- You ABSOLUTELY MUST install the divx codec. Probably 90-95% of the videos on the CD have been encoded
with the divx MPEG4 V3 codec due to awesome quality for small size videos. Repeat, you MUST install
the divx codec. You can get it free from the divx website.
Select the free divx package for download, then when installing you can just install the codec (no need
to install the divx player they offer.) The other two video formats used are the old cinepak codec
and the Indeo 5.1 codec. If you are using a fairly recent version of media player, it should
support Indeo already, but worst case you may need to install the indeo codec that you can get free
(after registering) from the indeo website. Cinepak has
been packaged with media player since Win95, so if those don't work you've got some serious problems
with your machine.
- Verify you have the required codecs installed by viewing
the divx sample video and the indeo sample video.
(the clips are only 2 and 1 seconds long, respectively). If you can't get these videos to work
on your machine, please DO NOT order the CD.
Ordering details
- Cost is $10.00 + $2.50 shipping and handling (plus sales tax if you are in North Carolina.)
This will get you the labeled lugnutz Media CD Volume 1 shipped to your U.S. home via US postal service in a CD mailer envelope.
- Due to the ease with which CDs can be copied, there are no refunds! I WILL offer an
exchange within 15 days if you receive your CD damaged or there are media read errors,
etc. You must cover the cost of shipping back to me. Please make sure you can view the video
formats used (see above) BEFORE you order.
- Preferred method of payment through
due to tracking, security, etc. If you don't
have a paypal account - you really should. It doesn't cost you anything to register and
send payments via credit card, etc - it DOES cost a seller, but makes the transaction so much easier. If you
absolutely refuse to do paypal, I will consider payment via money order, but that will slow
the process. email me (jca at lug***z dot com) for instructions on where to send
your money order and shipping information.
- I will be shipping out orders once a week, so please allow up to 10-15 business days to
receive your CD after payment (you should get it much quicker than that, but better safe than sorry).
- THANK YOU for your support of the lugnutz videos project!
